Children's University Passport To Learning
AS Music School is now a learning destination for The Children's University. The Children's University is an exciting national initiative which encourages children to take part in a wide range of out-of-school-hours learning. Research by the University of Cambridge indicates that keeping a record and celebrating participation in these initiatives has a big impact on success at school.
A child's commitment to learning is celebrated by recording their participation in all aspects of voluntary learning through an awards system. Once credit is awarded for each hour of learning that takes place. These are then converted into awards:
Bronze (30 hours)
Silver (65 hours)
Gold (100 hours)
and these continue right up to 1000 hours!
Over 34,000 children in Sheffield are already earning credits through this initiative with a total of over 2 million hours of CU activities in the city. More information can be found here
